Take A Bow

Take a Bow...

We're living in an age where good never seems to be good enough. We are being pushed, literally, from the womb to be better, different, the best and all that we can be. Though nothing is wrong with this concept fundamentally, we run the risk of never being content with where we are at any given moment of life.

There's always another level to reach, always another promotion to work for, always another wrung on the ladder to ascend. So whenever we look at the "bucket list" of life's goals, we always seem to come up short. With new challenges being added daily and so few truly achievable goals, it's no wonder that we are overwhelmed in our thoughts.

These stressful lives that we have created for ourselves, or passively succumbed  to, are eating away our joy, our sense of balance and ultimately our self worth.

This lust for the highest achievement has translated to every area of our lives. The latest gadgets, the newest model anything, the largest homes, the most exotic vacations and much more,  have not only become our goals but threaten to define our perception of achievement.

So we work tirelessly, neglecting family, health, purpose and true self analysis.

Today, it's time for us to step off the continuous treadmill of life. Take a break before life takes one for us. Pause for a moment to reflect on what we've achieved and give ourselves a round of applause.

We have accomplished great feats in our own right. Our achievements may not always be recognized by everyone, but only we know what it took to get here.

And life is so much more than the accolades received for hard work and you're more than a task performing, goal setting, industrial machine.

You cannot be reproduced. You're the original and only copy of yourself. Contrary to popular belief, you are not replaceable. No one does things exactly the way you do. Don't believe me? There is no one else with your exact DNA profile, even if you have an identical twin.

Don't become the bi-product of a world view that isolates and disregards what it cannot control or understand; that diminishes what it cannot take credit for; that is indecisive and unstable in its' own perception and definition of beauty and worth.

Celebrate your strengths; patiently develop your weaknesses; look yourself in the eye and say "I am Awesome!", until YOU believe it and Take a Bow!!!!
